Black Ops 2 Reclaims Top Spot in the UK
- Updated: January 29, 2013
The evergreen Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 reclaimed the top of the UK all formats chart for the first time since a six-week unbroken spell late last year. FIFA 13 held second place ahead of Far Cry 3, while last week’s best-seller DmC Devil May Cry slipped to the 4th spot.
Sales of the Black Ops 2 grew 20% week on week, proving the first person shooter has serious legs with fans of the annual franchise. If the record-breaking launch wasn’t enough proof of Call of Duty’s strength, maybe this is.
GfK/Chart-Track Top 10:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (Activision)
- FIFA 13 (EA)
- Far Cry 3 (Ubisoft)
- DmC Devil May Cry (Capcom)
- Assassin’s Creed 3 (Ubisoft)
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted (EA)
- Just Dance 4 (Ubisoft)
- Football Manager 2013 (Sega)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda)
- Hitman Absolution (Square Enix)
This just shows that Call of Duty, and Black Ops 2 in particular aren’t a 1 trick pony and can perform well even after the game’s launch. And with the release of the Revolution Map Pack on January 29th, I can only see Black Ops 2 hold on to the top spot for a considerable time.
